- "Theater critics must endure their
share of wooden performances, but in the case of "Suspended
Animation" the prospect is excusable. The show celebrates puppeteer Phillip
Huber's extraordinary level of artistry in
crafting and manning his original marionette creations.
-
- With each puppet
sporting it's own special bars and toggle-pieces to control individual movements,
the realistic detail is astonishing--from the delicate
fingering of the violinist to the lifelike antics of Huber's most complex
creation, a playful pooch requiring 22 strings. But, as Huber cautions in his
friendly, informative post-show discussion, "It's not the number of strings
you have--it's how you use them"."

The Production
'Suspended Animation' is a series of
variety vignettes selected from the Huber Marionettes
Characters cast and designed for a
proscenium theater. A performance can range from 10 to 60 minutes of choreographed
non stop music and transitions. 90 minutes is available when intertwined
with the addition of a video
presentation titled "The Making of a Star" as well as a
live demonstration of our "Behind
the Strings" lecture revealing the tricks of the
trade. This addition is narrated live by
Phillip Huber.
Whether you choose to use the show
as an addition to your production or as a stand alone solo
performance, you're audiences will be amazed as Phillip Huber sets
the stage and brings each character to life.
