Sandy Duncan Sandy
Duncan was born and raised in Texas, and made her theatrical debut at
the age of 12 in the Dallas Summer Musical productions of “The King
& I”. From there she went on to appear in regional theatres
throughout the country starring in such productions as South
Pacific (L.A. Drama
Critics Award), The King and
I, Gypsy,
Showboat, The
Unsinkable Molly
Brown, Gentlemen Prefer
Blondes, Bye Bye Birdie, Brigadoon,
Hello Dolly, Guys and Dolls, and
many more. At the New York City Center, Ms. Duncan appeared in Life with
Father, Carousel, The Music Man, Finians Rainbow and The Sound
of Music. Off-Broadway credits include: Ceremony
of Innocence (Theatre World Award) Your
Own Thing, I Do! I Do! and
Love Letters. On Broadway, Ms. Duncan garnered Tony Award nominations
for Canterbury Tales, The Boy
Friend and Peter Pan. She has also starred in Love is
a Time of Day, My One and Only (L.A. Drama Critics Award) and Vanities at the Mark Taper Forum (Dramalogue & L.A. Critics
Award. Ms. Duncan’s extensive television and film credits include
“Law & Order”, “The Hogan Family”, “Sandy in
Disneyland”, “Bing Crosby and Friend?, “Bob Hope, Pearl Bailey and
Sandy Duncan”, “Married Is Better”, “The Burt Bacharach
Special”, “Opryland USA”, “Per~ Como Sings”, and many more.
She received an Emmy for “The Richard Rodgers Special” and Emmy
nominations for “Roots” and “Funny Face”. She starred in Star Spangled
Girl and such children’s film classics as The Million Dollar Duck, The Cat
From Outer Space, My Little Pony,
The Fox and the Hound, Rockadoodle, The Swan Princess
and the original Barney videos.
